Venceu pela sexta vez o Troféu Brasil Caixa e foi campeão do Sul-Americano de Assunção , quebrando o recorde da competição , com 21,02 m . Iniciou no Atletismo incentivado pelo irmão . Quase abandonou a carreira depois de uma séria lesão nos joelhos .
Darlan is heading for the second World Athletics Championship of his career , having premiered in Beijing in 2015 .
