our Quarters Black defeated their
stablemates, Four Quarters Orange,
in a strong game for the Coworth
Park Challenge Trophy. The Black team,
patroned by Romila Arber, got the better of
her husband Simon’s Orange squad in this
15-goal battle at Coworth Park. They won
the match 11-9. Despite being the winning
patron, Romila Arber was more than happy
to let her number four, John Paul Clarkin,
step forward to collect the trophy! The
Coworth Park Challenge Trophy must
be one of the biggest, and possibly most
unusual trophies in the sport.
Ten teams had entered this popular
15-goal tournament and so it was not
surprising that the sub final was equally
competitive. Chris Mathias’s Clarita team
won this contest, defeating Mo Sheikh’s
Bridge House of Twyford with the same
score line as the previous match – 11-9.
