Anchored by the Troop Camping badge, our new Outdoor Journey will
strengthen girls’ outdoor skills and ignite their interest in environmental
stewardship. Girls will also complete a Take Action project.
Outdoor STEM Journey:
Think Like a Citizen Scientist
Primitive Camper
Girls practice the scientific method by undertaking a citizen science
project. They make observations, collect data, and work with scientists
who provide feedback on research and findings. Girls also complete a
Take Action project.
Eco Camper
Badges
Girls’ Choice Badge: Troop Camping—Get ready for fun,
adventure, and challenge in the great outdoors with the
winning Girls’ Choice badge from 2017.
Daisy Badges—For our daring Daisies, Outdoor Art
Maker gives them a chance to explore the outdoors
and use what they see and hear to make
different kinds of art projects.
Outdoor fun doesn’t hibernate! Keep the

Challenge, winter edition!
This summer, the first-ever GSWPA Get Outdoors Challenge was a
big hit with more than 1,400 girls earning the girl-designed patch.
Now, there’s a winter edition of this challenge to inspire you to
get outdoors all season long!

Don’t forget! Double your Girl Scout Bucks for camp. See page 5.
From November 1—March 31, complete as many activities as possible
from the checklist, then submit your entry by April 15. There are
67 activities to choose from, including ice skating, sledding,
feeding birds, and, of course, making snow angels!
Complete the required amount of activities for your grade level to
earn your Get Outdoors Challenge patch (or your winter leaf if you
have already earned the patch through the summer challenge).
