Lillian was awarded the Hidden Heroine Award in 1976 in recognition of her contributions to the community by inspiring girls throughout Girl Scout leadership experiences. Lillian was involved in both scouting and her Catholic faith which was the perfect combination for her work with the Girl Scout religious awards. As part of her involvement, she joined the Catholic Committee on Scouting as a liaison from 1992 to 1995. In recognition of her service she received several awards throughout the years: in 1983 she received the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award which recognizes those who serve the spiritual needs of Catholic members in national organizations; in 1984 she received the St. Anne Award, the highest national recognition for those who have contributed to the spiritual development of Catholic members of organizations for girls; and in 1992 she was given the Paraclete Award, a Diocesan award given for continuous years of active service to girls in Scouting and Camp Fire and for promoting the spiritual concepts of these programs.

Throughout the years Lillian continued to volunteer with Girl Scouts and eventually became involved with the Museum Committee. She believed it was important to preserve the history of Girl Scouting in our council and she helped catalog many historic books, uniforms and other memorabilia. One of the last accolades she received came during and event at Camp Hoffman where her friends came together to present her with her 65th year pin! She acquired many friends throughout her lifetime, but her Girl Scouting sisters were among the ones she cherished the most.
