Secondary and Elementary Students and teachers united their passions and talents , and performed a classic Christmas story , “ The Best Christmas Pageant Ever .”
The “ Best Christmas Pageant Ever ” was the first play to have teachers and students combined together as a cast . Although the performers ’ ages were widely different , everyone was equally important on stage .
Summer Freeman , who played the role of Maxine , said , “[ teachers ] were told to act like they were students because the directors were the real ‘ teachers .’ So I acted like they were students and blended in with them .”
Music teacher Ms . Lee played the part of Grace
Bradley , the mother of Charlie and Beth Bradley . Describing her experiences , she said , “ If you share that passion of wanting to do your best in the play it doesn ’ t really matter how old you are .”
The students felt similar . Gaurav Sharma who played Claude Herdman said , “ I treated the teachers like they were actors but at the same time they are teachers . We gave them the same respect we would give our peers .” Although the position of a student and a teacher is different , their goal of presenting the play successfully was the same . Fifth-Grade Shasheesh Manda said , “ I wasn ’ t really into acting , but I tried it out and I got to know Ms . Schneider very well by the end of the play .”
