NO LIMIT TO GROWTH Varsity Girls Tennis 80 Fall Sports Through their rigorous training, the Girls Tennis team achieved second place in 1 the KAIAC Red Division regular season and third place in the KAIAC Red Division Tournament. “First we have to run laps around the tennis court, then as teams we do lines, meaning warm-ups from line to line and court to court.” said Gina Park, sopho- more in the Girls Tennis team. The main training consists of several drills and the type, duration, and number of drills differed based on what the team needed to work on, which often left them breathless at the end of one session. Gina said that the training was more challenging than previous years, which prepared them for the competitive games they participated in. In the end, the team was able to apply all the skills that they obtained during the games and saw how much they improved throughout the season. Gina de- 2 scribed the process of improvement as “the most enjoyable part because that is when me and my team mates interact the most”. 1 When the KAIAC conference games and tournament came around, Leslie Lee, sophomore, said that the reason why they emerged victorious was because “the team is always encouraging each other ”. The Girls Ten- nis team came second and third place in their division for regular season and tournament. Despite the success, the team strives higher. Next year, they hope to surpass expectations and push their limits to achieve first place for both the regular season and the tournament. 3
