Every team made up a creative chant that they proudly recited in front of everyone. Elementary 1 students worshiped, learned, and captured the flags as they pushed their limits to work with their peers. 2 Elementary SEW’s theme was “Unity” and playing games pushed the students’ limits to unify themselves by collabo- rating with each other. They learned the choices they made for their small groups impacted how they united as a team. Fourth-grade Alex Schmidt commented that “unity” means “teamwork” because through teamwork he learned more about his friends, and teamwork required him to interact with people he wasn’t familiar with. Ms. Shin, the Elementary Student Life Minister, said the main purpose of SEW was to be “connected together”. She emphasized this was not just about unity and con- nection within the school, but also at home. Fourth-grade, Ana Sanjeev, said she cheered for her own team by yelling “Go Foxes”. This chant was motivating to her peers and pushed their limits during the games. She also ex- plained it was the main reason why her team won every single relay sack race. The Bible verse of SEW was Romans 12:4-5 “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these mem- bers do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the oth- ers.” 4 5 6 7 8 61
