Elementary Art class, led by Ms Susan Kim, utilizes a program called “Teaching for Artistic Behaviour approach,” where students are allowed to make whatever they want, using different materials. “Choice” is the word Ms. Kim uses to describe Elemen- tary Art, emphasizing the freedom of creativity students are given. “My favorite part about art class is pottery,” stated Joan- na Choi from fourth-grade. However, Taniya Christober thought “clay work” was the best. Reflecting on the students response to her philosophy, Ms. Kim stated, “Our students are creative, collaborative and courageous.” She unabashedly recognized the creative poten- tial of her elementary students.
