To strengthen their team bond, Coach Chan always encouraged the team to talk to each other. She said, “ After every game we sat in a circle and the person on the right would talk about the per- son on the left and that way they would keep interaction.” She continued, “because Volley- ball is 70 percent emotional and 30 percent physical it was important to 88 is ation unic lent m m l exce n. Jumping on to the highlight of the season, with no hesitation, the team stated it was definitely the game against SIS. Throughout the sea- son the team had three games against SIS. The first two games were intense, but the girls lost both games by a close call. Instead of feeling emotion- Fall Sports and Activities ally down, the team used those two losses as motivation for a successful KAIAC Conference. After the team knew they would play against all divi- sions at the KAIAC Tournament their H o m e G u e s t goal was set towards SIS. During their third game, the Lady Knights defeated 2 0 CI SIS two sets to none, which revealed 1 2 SIS how much the girls improved, accord- 1 2 KIS ing to Coach Chan. 0 2 KIS Starting with a team of only two 1 2 CI juniors and two sophomores others 1 2 SIS might say they started as an inexperi- enced team. However, the final game KAIAC against SIS proved to the girls they TOURNAMENT grew to become a solid team. 3 rd PLACE
