Students were also asked to write some- thing interesting about their dish. 2. Matthew Lee blends together his ingredients as he makes his mango smoothie. To make the smoothie, Mathew blended mango, yogurt, milk and syrup to give it a refreshing taste. 3. Maria Galkina and Leewon Koo prepare the cream for their dish “chocolate heaven.” They stated, “One bit and you’re in chocolate heaven.” 4. Jonathan Lee dips his pinky and tastes the food as he gets ready to prepare it for the judges. 5. Soorin Kim, Monica Park, and Leewon Koo watch as Yuki empties the chocolate pan. They were surprised to see the chocolate had hard as it was a bit overcooked. 6. Jude Joung empties his ingredients onto a fry- ing pan. His aim was to fuse Italian and Korean food together. 7. Phillil Cho prepares the sauce for his “cream super spaghetti.” The tomato sauce included many different vegetables topped off with spaghetti noodles. 8. Saran Watanabe washes his cutting board as he prepares to cut more vegetables. Since the “cream super spaghetti” re- quired a lot of vegetables it required a lot of cutting. 9. Tanvi Mavuri and Trisha Palli mix and add their ingredients together in a bowl. Their dish had a lot of seasoning which required a lot of mixing. 10. Jinju Hughes, Elly Kang, and Ashley Nam unpack their ingredients. The dish they planned on making was plain vanilla cupcakes topped with colorful icing and chocolate chips. 10 71
