1 . Jade Hughes , Andrew Kim , and Christine Kim crowd around a phone during their theatre class . The students practiced how they would present technical factors of theatre : costume , makeup , sounds , and lighting . 2 . Sally Kim paints her foam board sculpture in 3D art class . She created a series of hearts scaled smaller in size and layered to represent her grandfathers heart surgery . The color was changed from black to red to represent the healing process . 3 . Junwoo Kang and Kane Yoon share a book called , ‘ The Importance of Being Earnest ’. This book has a lot of comedic aspects that influenced and engaged the students . 4 . Misa Suh handles her clay sculpture . In the first year of DP visual art , the students are exposed to various forms of art to broaden their interests . 5 . Cindy Jung receives feedback from Ms . Schneider . During Theatre Arts class , students studied and analyzed their monologues based on the Stanislavski system . 6 . Hojin Chung makes a sour face while Partha Yashraj smiles while reading ‘ The Importance of Being Earnest ’. This class had a range of freshmen and sophomore students who are interested in the technical aspects of drama performances .
7 . Jung Min Kim sews pieces of fabric together . In the second year of DP Art , students are able to freely explore and pursue various art mediums . 8 . June Lee reaches out to wet her hand while steadily molding the clay on the ceramic wheel . June Lee hoped to create a piece that would represent a theme of thirst .
9 . Studying Jackson Pollock , Jackie Kim , a Drawing and Painting student , explores the paint dripping technique . She concentrates as Jennifer Kim and Akari Sakamoto laugh
at her for accidentally splattering paint on the floor . 10 . After going on a scavenger hunt for patterns around the school , Joseph Oh defines the positive and negative space in ink pen . Joseph applied this pattern to his Surrealist artwork about Edgar Allan Poe ’ s short story ‘ The Black Cat ’. 11 . Tor Utoksiri uses ink pen to add defined lines to his surrealist graffiti artwork . His theme was about completely relieving stress and used the technique of deception to convey it .
