Teddy Kwon high-fives his new friend he made
while reading English stories. Teddy always partici-
pated in the feeding sites by leading prayer. He was
one of the most popular students at the sites.
1. Joanne Lee stands triumphantly atop Dongin Kwak during their David and Goliath skit. Joanne was David and Dongin was Goli-
ath. They performed their skit about seven times throughout the trip with different children watching every time. 2. Dongin Kwak
plasters the supporting pillar of the multi-purpose room. The children from the Ati school watch and talk with him as he works.
3. The local children of Boracay gather around Minsoo Kim, Nicole Eggens, Taeeun Uhm, Teddy Kwon, and Ethan Kim as they
perform their Bible skit, the Tower of Babel. Afterwards, the students played Red Light, Green Light and Duck Duck Goose.
4. After school let out for the Ati kids, they played on the basketball court with many of the other children. David Lee gave one
of the children a piggyback ride. 5. Running as fast as she could, Nicole Eggens chases a little girl in attempt to tag her during a
round of Duck Duck Goose. The children played the game for almost 30 minutes. 6. Mr. Huey Lee shovels plaster into buckets at
Jubilee Ministry Center. The team worked on rebuilding the third floor after it was destroyed in a fire one year ago. 7. Leveling
out the wall, Siwon Lee hammers into a nail to chip away at the cement. This was part of a reconstruction effort worked on by
many members of the GSIS team. 8. First time VASE trip participant, Ethan Kim stands ready to make a run down the beach as
they play Red Light, Green Light. Ethan lightened the trip up with his jokes. 9. In an effort to give the Ati children an opportu-
nity to practice their English, Kate Youn sat with Bernadette, one of the students at MASA school. Kate practiced multiplication,
addition, and subtraction with her. 10. Joni Cho, David Shin, Kate Youn, Huey Lee, Joanne Lee, Nicole Eggens, Taeeun Uhm,
Dongin Kwak, Minsoo Kim, Siwon Lee, Teddy Kwon, Ethan Kim, David Lee, Mrs. Lozano, and Mr. Laroche. 11. Taking a break from
snorkeling and seasickness, Ms. Lozano, Joanne Lee, David Shin, Minsoo Kim, Teddy Kwon, and Siwon Lee attempt to synchronize
their jump for a picture. This ended in epic failure but provided to be a funny picture for them to look back on.
