What I mean by that is we had lost so much that it was kind of like ‘Wait what we won? We won!’”, Coach Lozano said. Although the season was starting to come to an end and it hadn’t been a very successful one for the varsity boys, they were able to keep their motivation through their love for the sport. Throughout the season, the 4 team was missing Tor Utoksiri, a senior who was unable to play due to KAIAC’s age limit rules. However, this game being a friendly, they were able to put him into the game. Individually, each of the boys on the team were very skilled and had the confidence, and will- ingness to play. However, since the Dwight game was friendly, Tor was permitted to play. Nonetheless, the boys were all indi- vidually skilled players. But “think of it like this, on a car, you could have really good parts on your car, but if you’re missing one of the wheels, you’ve got a great engine, a great seat, a great steering wheel, three amazing wheels, 6 and you could have all that, but if you’re missing one wheel, it’s going to be really difficult”, Coach Lozano explained. “Winning the Dwight game was really exciting for me. It was our first win in 22 games and I was able to score 14 points. It was a good game for all of us and I’m proud of how the whole team played throughout the game” said Zachariah Ward, Junior. When Tor was able to play in the game, “Zach played better, Alex played better, Daniel played better. They already were good players, they just didn’t have that one wheel with them in most of the games. And when that final wheel was in place, all the other pieces that we knew were good, were working like they were sup- posed to. You need all four of them to work well, we were just missing one of them for most of the season”. The boys were “happy” that they were able to win a 10 game although it was a hard season for them. The final score of the game was 65-51. KAIAC T ournament 8 th Place A ll C onference Zachariah Ward A ll T ournament Alex Kim T op G un Alex K
