Having recent feedback allowed swimmers to have better performances. 3. Helena Chin prepares to dive from the platform as the race begins. If a heat requires students to dive, they have to hit the water before the red and yellow flags in order for the dive to be legal. 4. Grade-eight, Sungun Woo takes a breath as he performs his breaststroke. Breathing techniques were vital for swimmers as the right technique helped them swim effi- ciently. 5. Tanvi Mavuri builds up her leg strength by using a board to keep her up- per body afloat. By doing this, all focus is on her leg muscles. 6. Jeison Ward takes a break to receive feedback. Coach Mircea made sure to give detailed feedback for swimmers. 7. Colin Kim warms up his body as he prepares for his race. At each swim meet each team was given time in the water before to practice and get used to the pool.. 8. Eric Shin stretches his arms by using muscle resistant exercise bands. Stretching with bands not only works as a warm up, but improves arm, shoulder and back strength. 9. First year swimmer, Tommy Wigenton swims down the lane, work- ing on his breast stroke. Wigenton’s focus this season was improving his breaststroke 10. Record breaker, Woobin Cha performs his butterfly during practice as he pre- pares for the first swim meet of the season. Woobin has also been swimming on the high school varsity team. 11. Tommy Wigenton swims to the end of the lane as he gets ready for a flip turn. The flip turn gives advantages to swimmers as it prevents them from slowing them. 12. Sungun Woo picks out a pair of flippers to use. Swim- mers used flippers to improve form and muscles. 123
