Mr. Kaiser gathers Keahi Brumsickle, Hyung Wook Ku, Joshua Laroche, Akihito Koyama, and the other members of the basketball sports team together. He sits them in the center of the gym at the start of every practice. This allows him to take attendance and explain the goals for each practice. Thomas Hughes dribbles the ball in a straight line ty i tiv c lA 3 5 across the gym. Coach Hughes taught students basic basketball skills such as dribbling with proper form. 2. Disha Maheshi lines up with the basket and prepares to shoot. An essential part of practices was to make sure that students were being taught proper fundamentals. 3. Senior Kwon Jun Lee gives out jerseys to Thomas Kaiser to pass out amongst the students. Although there was no uniform or strict dress code for practice, every student was expected to wear the uniforms during jamborees. 4. Nirvika Gupta drinks water during a break to quench her thirst. Coach Hughes considered hydration and rest to be very important, giving students a break during practice every 30 minutes. 5. Joshua Laroche stretches before practice begins. Students were taught that stretching prior to playing sports was important to prevent injury. 6. Coach Hughes explains how to perform the layup drill to Nirvika Gupta, Vinayak Chopra, Thomas Hughes, Ethan An and Disha Nahesh. Considered the most reliable method of scoring in basketball, layups were the point of focus in many practices. 7. Kanak Bhakta looks up to the rim to aim for a shot. During shooting drills, students were given a chance to take turns running towards the basket and take a shot. 8. Ethan An, Thomas Hughes, and Andy Dang get in line and wait for their turn to do drills. Coach Hughes implemented many types of drills. 9. Max Chin dribbles the ball during a scrimmage. Students were divided into two teams to play a practice game. 10. Nirvika Gupta and Joshua Laroche wait for their turn as Ayushi Gupta dribbles towards the hoop and lays the ball up. Students were instructed to give adequate space to those in front of them. 11. Ethan An aims towards the basket and shoots.
