Tanvi Mavuri dances ballet to The Nutcracker with the nutcracker doll. Every year, she made ballet performances for the elementary winter concert. 5. In the song, each student sang a line and collaboratively told the story about the birth of Jesus. 6. Rein Gugol and Ashley Nam sing the “The First Noel” while playing together on the xylophones. Prior to the performance, Rein Gugol set up the scene that conveyed the message that God is always on our side, even in times of hardship. 7. The four students and their classmates practiced diligently during music class to give a well-rehearsed performance. 8. As fourth-grader Joshua Laroche plays the flute, fifth-graders Joel Varghese, Harry Kim and Philip Cho sing and play the cello. Moreover, third, fourth, and fifth-graders came together for the songs “We Sing Gloria” and “Joy to the World,” which made a successful repertoire for the performance. 9. Fourth-graders Ivy Kim, Nischay Mahesh, Mathapelo Mabunda, and Bowen Song dance and sing along to “Dreidel Spin.” The fourth-graders’ strong teamwork made this performance possible. 10. Second-grader Thomas Hughes was one of the Emcees during the elementary Christmas concert. He was already delighted to be performing in the concert, but he became even more elated to be an emcee as well in front his parents and siblings. 11. Sofia Hwang, Joshua Laroche, and Arnav Despande dance to the song “Mr. Frosty Winter.” Grooving to the rhythmic movements, the fourth-graders had fun with “Mr. Frosty Winter.” 12. Aashi Jain, Sodai Kishimoto, Stephanie Ahn, and Amore Watanabe play music with their recorders to “Joy to the World.” They tried to infuse joy into their performance, for the song has a bright mood. 3 1 2 38 Elementary _GSIS Yearbook-ES_Part 1.indd 38 4 5 4/16/16 10:40 PM
