GSIS 10 Year Anniversary Yearbook: Memories | Page 205
1. The newcomers of the team, Sarah Kim, and Jenny Lee show great school spirit with great smiles and crisp motions. Sarah Kim supported the GSIS
basketball team by shouting “Go Knights!” and performing a high kick. 2. Euna Chang performs a fall back during half-time. In order
to perform a fall back, the flyer falls back into the arms of three back spots, who pushes the flyer back up on two
bases’ hands. 3. Haley Park, Jennifer Kim, and Esther Yoon perform the KAIAC routine with sharp
motions. At the home game against Chadwick International school, cheerleaders only performed a portion of their whole KAIAC routine
due to some cheerleaders being absent.

4. Jenny Lee claps her hands for the
transition. Jessica Oh led the transition by shouting “Ready,” then all the other cheerleaders moved to their next position. 5. Kelly Chang, Heeyoon Kim, Haley Park, Euna Chang and Sarah Kim watch videos of themselves
stunting. Cheerleaders often recorded their process in order to check and reflect on their performance. 6. Jessica Oh, Stephanie Kim, Seoyeon Kang, and Esther Yoon perform the KAIAC
chant routine at the home game against Chadwick International school. At the KAIAC competition, GSIS cheerleaders placed sixth out of ten teams with only 1.333 points away from making into the
finalist. 7. Robin Cho stands at the sideline and shows her spirit during the home game against Seoul International School. During every practice, cheerleaders worked on memorizing and tightening
their moves for all the sideline chants.
“Cheer was a growing experience. You never know how much you can do until you push yourself... I think about everything we learned, and the team work and the consistent effort is what
still sticks with me. Constantly committing to your team and
working at something until you succeed. It’s true for
so many parts of life and cheer solidified that
for me.”

Personally, starting the first
GSIS cheer team was essentially witnessing the change
that even a small voice has
the power of making... we
ourselves were a small voice
at the time, which would later
grow to change the landscape
of the GSIS basketball court.
