and Victor Jeong listen
as Coach Pitkin explains the
game plan to the team during a timeout. Coach Pitkin called timeouts during
games in order to stop the opposing team’s
momentum and refocus the boys. 2. Trey Noh uses a
crossover to gain separation from the Chadwick defender. Being the point guard, Trey was responsible for bringing up the ball and
creating offensive opportunities through dribbling and passing. 3. Coach
Pitkin encourages the team before the game. During home games, Coach Pitkin
urged the Varsity boys to relax and to rely on what they had learned in practice.
4. Jongwhee Jeon lines up his sight before taking a free throw. During practices, the Varsity boys often took free throws and ran laps if they missed them.
5. Changhee Han rises up to shoot a layup against two Chadwick defenders. Changhee was a focal point for the offense due to his height advantages.
6. Alex Kim swipes for the ball against APIS. Since Trey was absent for the
game, Alex took on the role of the main scorer, leading the offence to victory.
7. Chris Jung and Hijiri Kamigawa rush to the finish line after running a line drill.
The Varsity boys often ran at the end of practices to stay fit and prepared for
games. 8. Zachariah Ward runs through the victory tunnel created by cheerleaders after a victory against APIS at home. Cheerleaders often encouraged the boys
before, throughout and after games.
