1. While on Caticlan, the student teams acted out Bible stories
to teach the local children about the importance of trusting
and honoring God. Robin Cho played the part of God in the
skit Jonah and the Whale. 2. Mr. Lee washes Lucas Lee’s feet
to show what it was like in the Bible when Jesus washed the
disciples feet. Mr. Lee and Mr. Vandermeer washed the feet
of each student and prayed for them. 3. Playing with the children at the only Ati Language church in the Philippines, Cindy
Kang asks the children if they want crayons for their coloring
page. 4. On the last day visiting Ati Village, Chris Jung wanders around on the basketball court with one of the children he
had met during his day at construction and at the feeding site.
5. Andrew Kim, Sojin Han, Jisu You, Jiwon You, Rose Kim, and
students from Yanbian International Academy sit in a circle.
Seniors Sojin and Justin talked about college information and
gave tips for the underclassmen. 6. Teri Park picks up one of
the children at Ati Village and carries her around on her back.
7. Riding the boat back from Caticlan to Boracay, John Park
and Eric Lee look onward to the ocean. Eric holds a flower
with handmade mini palm purses that was made by some of
the children they met. 8. Sojin Han, Justin Lee, John Chey
and Lucas Lee put on a puppet show for elementary students.
Their first play was about forgiveness and their second play
was about the Fruits of the Spirit. 9. Eric Lee guides one
of the children in a game of Duck-Duck-Goose. Some of the
children were hesitant to play, but when students partnered
with them, they felt more comfortable playing. 10. As one

in the silly song ‘Father Abraham’. In this song the students
have to move their arms like a chicken, pick up their feet, look
up at the sky, and spin in circles. The song always made the
kids laugh and feel comfortable around their new friends.
11. Returning to the Philippines was important for Jessica Oh
as she lived there for six years. On Ati she would read to the children, translating the English words into Tagalog so that the children could understand the story. The children enjoyed speaking
to Jessica and playing with her because language bonded them.
12. Joon Park, John Chey, Justin Lee, Lucas Lee, and Grant Lee
practice a drill for the soccer camp the next day. The soccer
camp was for a public Chinese school. 13. Harine Choi teaches
a cheer routine to middle schoolers at Yanbian International
Academy. 14. As children line up, Jongwhee Jeon ladles food
into bowl for the children in a local village. This meal is provided by the support and donation of schools like GSIS and
other ministries that support the work of First Love Ministries.
15. Andrew Kim and Harine Choi read a book to elementary
students. The book was a sticker book so the students got to
take turns putting stickers inside of it. 16 . Working in extreme
heat, Noel Lee and Alex Kim shovel rock into buckets and
hand them down a production line. Cement was then made
and poured into the foundation of the structure. The building
will become a multipurpose auditorium and staff housing.
17.Touching her ears and following Jongwhee’s instructions,
Haley Park participates in a game of Simon Says. 18. Kaili
Brumsickle and Robin Cho sit outside of their room and journal
about their day.
