GSIS 10 Year Anniversary Yearbook: Memories | Page 126

SEW was always a deliciously wicked time and best sums up what GSIS was to me as a whole : a safe place , a second home and just overall a whole bunch of groovy people to call family . I could not have asked for more of an attentive , loving and nurturing place to spend my formative years at – Matthew Chang , 2013 I definitely miss GSIS a lot !! I miss the SEW , Chapel , Music Nights , STOP , gymnastics and Prom . These events seemed like not important while I was in the school but the events that I participated in have become the memories I can ’ t forget . Now I wish I were more active and had taken more photos – Aaron Kim , 2013
I didn ’ t realize the importance of friendship and bonding , but Recalling my memories ... GSIS is a school that you might consider hard now , but will be one of your greatest memories in the future , Yoolim Oh , 2013

GSIS has a lot of opportunities . In my case , it was varsity sports , the VASE trip , and art . I enjoyed every bit of being with my best friends at GSIS . – Rina Morioka , 2012

I remember Publications class to be one of my favorite classes in GSIS , especially when I was Editor-In-Chief . It was one of those rare times where I was given the liberty to do what I love doing , with some of the people I was closest to . – Christine Noh , 2011
One of my best memories in GSIS is playing volleyball with my team . I was on the team for two years and we showed SUPER teamwork ! - Rachel Ro , 2013

Some of the best memories include watching sports games and just chilling out with my friends in the soccer field or the atrium during lunchtime . These may sound trivial , but I really miss the atmosphere of a small community . Everyone was close ; I miss the place , miss all my friends and teachers . - Miki Lee , 2012 I really can ’ t describe GSIS in words , it ’ s a feeling . GSIS has given me a friendly environment that enabled me to grow stronger as a Christian as well as providing me with friends and teachers that were always supportive . – Diane Jung , 2015
VASE Trips to Boracay were unforgettable and one of the kind ! Jane Kim , 2013
I would like to thank Mrs . Lozano for always being a great teacher but even a greater mentor . It was a pleasure having a figure who I could always count on for many aspects of my life . - Jeff Jung , 2013
Eunji Oh (‘ 11 )
One of the things I enjoyed about being at GSIS was just spending time with my favorite teachers that extended beyond the classroom and building a relationship that continues even after graduating from GSIS . I remember struggling to finish the yearbook before it was sent off to get printed . In the midst of the chaos , we were still able to enjoy watching the Twilight series and just chitchat throughout the whole night . Also , I want to thank Mr . Reimer for the enthusiasm he showed to his biology students about science . Even though I am not pursuing biology anymore , Mr . Reimer really taught me the fun side of the subject . – Eunji Oh , 2011

Wendy Choi (‘ 12 )
I would like to thank Ms . Brown and Mr . McNutt for being inspirational figures during my high school period and for always pushing us to get where we needed to be . I still remember English A1HL class heading over to Mrs . Brown ’ s and World History HL heading to Mr . McNutt ’ s house for extra study sessions . I know it sounds boring , but people who haven ’ t been there will never know . Secondly , a huge shout out to my personal favorite , Mr . Lozano . He was there for me when my grandfather passed away and when everything was headed South in my life . He prayed with me and prayed for me . He taught me some moves in Jiu Jitsu and we had a lot of fun sometimes working out in the gym from time to time . I have so many people I want to thank but I guess I have to stop here . Thank you teachers who have been there in my high school life , you guys made me who I am today . Thank you GSIS ! – Edward Kim , 2011
Jenny Kim (‘ 12 )
Although GSIS itself is a cozy sized school , I didn ' t have many connections with students outside my friend group--being on the soccer team fostered new friendships and thus , the community became more approachable and attainable .
Every pre-soccer game huddle was meaningful and emotional for me . The moment we gathered in that circle , casting our differences aside , screaming " NAKED
MOLERATS " at the top of our lungs , the huge field felt smaller . There ' s not another feeling that comes from such passionate , goal-driven unity . Thank you Mr . Walasek ( I know he ' s not there anymore ) and Mr . Harding--for always believing in me . For trusting me even when I lacked faith in my own abilities . Thank you both for fathering and mentoring me--displaying patience and love even in the smallest of gestures . Your wisdom and compassion spoke volumes to the team and me . Thank you for loving me and not getting angry every time your patience was tested . You guys were more than sports coaches to me , you coached me in life and fostered confidence in me and that ' s more than I could ' ve ever asked for . – Hoy Lee , 2014
