SOLIDARITY WITH VICTIMS OF KIDNAPPING IN NIGERIA #BringBackOurGirls
During the first morning of the Gathering, news emerged of another mass kidnapping of girls, adolescents, and women in Nigeria by the militant Islamist group Boko Haram.
In response, the parliamentarians in attendance at the Gathering united their voices to condemn the acts committed.
The Group of Women Parliamentarians is committed to remaining vigilant and denouncing acts of gender violence anywhere in the world. The Group urges Nigeria’s authorities to protect the civilian population and urges the international community to increase pressure to release the hostages and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
