Day 4 : Tuesday , April 10 , 2018 : LISBON - MEALHADA - PORTO
• ( early morning - long drive ) Meet private driver and Ryan OPaz at the lobby and leave towards Porto
• En-route stop at Mealhada wine region for a visit , wine tasting and lunch at one of our favorite wine producer of the region . y ou will also enjoy the most emblematic dish made at the Bairrada Region , roasted suckling pig paired with some of the winery best sparkling wines .
• After lunch continue your drive towards Porto
• Arrive and check in at 4-star hotel located in the city center
• Time to refresh before dinner
• Dinner at Taberna do Largo ( Tapas / Petiscos Dinner )
• Return back to Hotel
Day 5 : Wednesday , April 11 , 2018 : PORTO
• Canned Fish Experience & Tasting - Matosinhos : When in Porto you may want to learn about the Portuguese preserved fish industry and see first-hand the whole cycle and manufacturing process . Visit the port where the fishing boats arrive , followed by a visit to a traditional canned fish factory . Learn about the industry , watch how the fish is prepared by hand , taste some of the most gourme canned fish products and some personalized cans home with you
• Lunch at a fish restaurant in Matosinhos - Lusitano
• Return to Porto for a Port Wine Experience
• Night Off
Day 6 : Thursday , April 12 , 2018 : PORTO - DOURO VALLEY - PORTO
• Meet private driver at the lobby and Ryan OPaz and leave towards the Douro Valley , land of Port Wine
• Cooking With the Viscountess : Immerse yourself in the rich history , traditions , culinary and wine culture of Douro . Meet the Viscountess and learn about the history of the estate and her very interesting and rich life story . At the old kitchens and using the wood stove you will learn how to cook an authentic local menu under the Viscountess ’ guidance . After the cooking lesson , lunch will be served in one of the elegant dining rooms of the estate , or al fresco in the patio , and you will enjoy the dishes you have helped prepare .
• After lunch your driver will take you to Folgosa . Hop aboard a private boat ride along the winding Douro River in a barco rabelo , a majestic wooden sailboat historically used transport the Port wine barrels from the Douro Valley to the Port Lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia .
• Arrive at Pinhao and meet your driver that will take you to Vale de Mendiz
• Private visit and wine tasting at one of most iconic wineries in the Douro
• Return back to Porto
• Arrive and drop-off
• Dinner at Zé Bota Restaurant
• Return back to Hotel
Day 7 : Friday , April 13 , 2018 : PORTO - LOUSADA - BRAGA - PORTO
• Meet private driver and Ryan OPaz at the lobby and leave towards Lousada
• Private Jam Workshop at Manor House : Learn how to make your own jam and liquors with fruit collected straight off the land in their private orchard . This workshop is a fabulous introduction to the range and depth of flavors that the Douro has to offer . From learning the value of truly fresh ingredients and age-old secrets to making Portuguese jams , these hands-on sessions are a wonderful introduction as to why the Portuguese are mad about their produce .
• Leave towards Braga
• Lunch at Bem Me Quer Restaurant ( Caldo Verde , Arroz de Pato )
• After lunch you will have time to explore the city of Braga
• Return back to Porto
• Arrival and drop-off
• Gourmet Dinner at DOP Restaurant
• Return back to Hotel
Day 8 : Saturday , April 14 , 2018 : PORTO
• Old Town Porto-Food & Culture Tour : This food and culture tour will take you on a journey of discovery through the streets of Old Town Porto . You will visit small restaurants , cafes , the most famous monuments and sights and the oldest speciality stores and grocery stores in the city .
• Afternoon at leisure
• Farewell dinner at O Gaveto ! No goodbye dinner is complete in Portugal without mountains of seafood ! Chunky shrimp , juicy crab and heaps of mouthwatering lobster will be awaiting you upon arrival
• Return back to Hotel .
