Show Trim The jacket must be carded, not clippered. The only clippering is the face, throat, ears, underside of tail, pads, and sanitary. Combing the coat down, and scissoring a bevel around the dog can achieve the floating on air look. If you look in past issues you can see the step-by-step process to bevel with your clippers. Heads ACS heads should look like they just grew that way; tidy, natural and soft. Traditionally for my companion Cockers I stick to a 10 blade with the lay of the coat. However individual Owner desires mixed with coat and skin types will allow for some wiggle room. On ear leather I tend to do a 20 blade with and a 30 on the edges with a buff, but will stick to a 30 blade for it all with a black. I know some Groomers like to go with a 10 or 15 backwards. As long as the final look is the same there are many paths to get there. Note that your ending point is the bottom of the wee fold. You can also see the crown and how it rounds the head off. Depending on the dog this can be an incredibly easy task if they have a nice head! Blending shears will aid in finishing off the border so that it ends seamlessly.
