Greystone Retreat Spring | Page 6

One of the harbingers of spring, the brilliant yellow forsythia blooms brightly before the leaves begin to emerge.

Brilliant Greens

The greens of spring are unlike any other season ... perhaps, it's because they are in such contrast to the practically monochromatic world we've experienced for the previous three to four months.

Even a brief walk in the woods will put a spring in your step (pun intended) and regenerate your spirit.

We do hope you will take advantage of our recreational hiking trails during your stay at Greystone Retreat. Enjoy the sounds and sights of a world awakening from hibernation.

BRIGHT YELLOWS

Rest for a time on the bench overlooking the bay, these lovely flowers in the background.

Look closely and notice the 'yellows' ... they are everywhere in spring.

Forsythia, wild violets, orchids, dog-tooth violets, dandelions, goldfinches, wild canaries, tulips, daffodils, marsh mallow blossoms ... so much bright yellow welcomes

spring! Even the greens of the newly formed leaves have a yellow undertone that blends

with the sunny nature of life rejuvenating.

Soon you'll be spotting the tiny flowers on arising through the deadfall on the forest floor. And, perhaps, you too will begin your foray into the wonderful world of photography ... of capturing, for a moment in time, the treasures of nature regenerating.
