36 | Green Lake magazine 2012 Our 33rd season promises to be more iV̈}>ʓÈV>ʈii̅>ii before, according to newly appointed Festival Director Jeffrey Harkins. Concerts and other events are planned to run from early June through late July and will again be among the cultural and social highlights of the summer you wont want to miss. Enjoyable, intimate and come-as-you- are concerts are the name of the game for the Green Lake Festival of Music this season from June 8July 22 at Green Lakes historic Thrasher Opera House, the rustic local Boston Barn (which is celebrating 100 years), or Ripon College. Having received state recognition with a Governors Award for the Arts, the Green Lake Festival has continued to develop its series of summertime concerts, featuring internationally renowned artists performing classical string and wind music, supplemented by cabaret, jazz, Celtic, and other popular styles. Since 2006, the free Thomas E. Caestecker Family Series, coordinated with programs at local libraries, continues to introduce children and adults to various styles of music. Additionally, two other well-established programs will be offered again. The ASCAP-winning ensemble, the Amelia Piano Trio, will be on hand once again to run the Festivals two-week Chamber Music Camp from July 114. The Chamber Music Camp is an invaluable iݫiiViʜi̜ii>ޜ՘} adults. Stephen Alltop returns to serve as musical director of the Festivals Choral Institute that runs from July 19 22. The Choral Institute is a wonderful i>V̈iiݫiiViʜi̜>>i and professional adult singers alike. This Festival serves as a great source of musical and cultural enrichment for the Green Lake County area, then- Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle wrote in a letter celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Festival in 2004.
