As you could imagine, working your way up the ladder is time consuming, “It has a big effect on my everyday life. Each day I dedicate a certain amount of time to baseball, having the consistent work ethic has made me a better person. Playing baseball has helped me be a better student as well, I know I have to take care of business to get the privilege of playing baseball every day”.

The Kansas native who played JUCO in Arizona, will be in Green Bay this summer, and will be headed to Mississippi next season doesn’t mind the travel. “Playing in different places and meeting new people is one of the best things about baseball. You get to share your knowledge and stories of the game with other people just like you.”

After having a successful tenor at Scottsdale Community College which included posting a .300 batting average, 11 homeruns, and 45 RBIs this past season. Pener will be joining the Bulldogs. “I chose Mississippi State because when I went to the campus I knew I would fit in there. The coaches and I have similar philosophies and I’m confident we will work really well together. The facilities are amazing also and the people down there love baseball more than anywhere else I’ve seen.”

Pener looks forward to what Green Bay has to offer. “I hope the Bullfrogs will move my game to the next level. It will be a challenge that I am up for and I’m looking forward to playing a lot of games this summer and showing that I can play the game day in and day out.”
