Lackawanna County has 11 public school districts,
as well as a Career Technology Center and several parochial
and private schools. The region is also the home to 16 post-
secondary institutions, enrolling more than 52,000 students.
Lackawanna County has become a center of healthcare
innovation with its own medical school, and high school
graduation rates are higher than the national average.
The region’s colleges and universities also regularly make
the grade for national rankings.
