websites that I use. The twins are currently on the
FIAR (Five In A Row) curriculum, plus other bits
and pieces that I figure they will like. My oldest is
on a self created curriculum to work on areas that
we need to focus on with her.
GEM: What would you recommend for parents
wanting to start homeschooling, but have no
idea where to begin or how to prepare for that
transition?
Natasha: Be patient with yourself and know that
you are going to do just fine if you allow yourself

to. You may not have all of the training of a teacher
in a brick and mortar school, but you have the love
for your child — and a library card! Plus, you have
the support of co-ops and others who have been
doing this and sending children off to college to
earn MEGA degrees for decades. You’ve got this.
GEM: Any exciting plans coming up for Houseful
of Nicholes?
Natasha: Oh boy, we have a road heavy schedule
this year, and I’m speaking at a couple of confer-
ences. We also run a huge educational garden for
our community that the kids love being a part of. I
love that they are interested.
