GEM: Is it all Tex-Mex all the time? What other
kinds of cuisines do you enjoy or inspire you?
VR: Tex-Mex all the time? No, my blog focus-
es on Mexican, Tex-Mex and Texan food. I am
first generation Mexican-American and first
generation Texan, so I enjoy featuring the fla-
vors of my heritage.
GEM: Any exciting upcoming plans for your
brand that you’d like to share?
VR: Yes! I recently submitted the manuscript
for the second cookbook. A Tex-Mex slow
cooker book which will feature easy, pull to-
gether Tex-Mex meals. The book will include
breakfast, brunch, appetizers, dinner and
cocktail recipes. Some recipes will be tradi-
tional others will be Tex-Mex with a twist. I
also have a few cocktail recipes.
