Three models added to OEM’s Performance Series A latex printer for rigid and flexible media
Mark Andy has added the P9E, P7E and P5E to its Perform-
ance Series press line that “redefines workflow productivity
through simple design, efficient waste savings and fast
changeovers.” The new P9E press is ideal for high-quality
flexible packaging. Available in web widths up to 26”, the flexo
press is “an ideal solution to print short-run film, shrink sleeves,
flexible packaging and foil lidding.” It’s built with new servo-
controlled impression adjustment, independent servo-driven
anilox rolls, and servo side-adjust. It offers advanced auto-
mation with automated registration and impression, job save,
eight servo motors per station, and a centralized control
system. The P7E allows converters to expand into new mar-
kets, targeting entry-level film and extended-content
applications. All three models deliver an updated ProLED
system with air-cooling and modular recirculation dryers. Mark

three times faster than traditional webbing methods. HP has expanded its hybrid HP Latex R Printer Series by adding
the R1000 printer for rigid and flexible printing. Designed for
a variety of hybrid applications, it features HP latex rigid printing
technology and HP latex white ink. Aimed at businesses with
budget and space constraints wanting to expand, it offers a
single set of inks for applications including retail, outdoor sign-
age, window graphics, events, exhibitions, decoration and
more. It comes with smaller three-litre ink cartridges, and is
designed to accommodate materials up to 1.64 m (64”) wide
and up to 5 cm (2”) thick. It also features HP thermal inkjet print
heads and redesigned HP latex inks that achieve a vibrant
colour gamut on rigid media while preserving media gloss and
feel – with no smell. HP latex overcoat adds durable and flexible
water-based inks for high adhesion and scratch resistance,
while lower curing temperatures allow for wider media versatil-
ity. Productive belt workflow enables speeds up to 57 square
metres per hour and handling of up to 60 kg rolls.

An entry-level solution for digital label production
Xeikon’s label printing solution is offered “at a price point that
brings the lucrative label market within reach of label converters
of all sizes.” The new ‘Label Discovery’ solution consists of a
Xeikon 3030 (an entry-level, dry toner, web-fed digital label
press) and the new entryDcoat (a digital converting line that can
be used inline or offline with the 3030) and can be field
upgraded. Dry toner is ideal for food labels in terms of safety
due to its non-toxic nature. The 3030 is ideal for producing
labels for a broad range of applications using standard flexo
materials. This avoids the need to use specially treated sub-
strates. Its 5-colour printing features CMYK and white, or a
special spot or gamut-extending colour. The system’s entry-

HP Latex R1000 Printer
A continuous inkjet printer for marking and coding
The Leibinger entry-level JET One
model is a new industrial CIJ printer for
marking and coding food packaging,
beverages and consumer products with
fixed and variable data such as best-
before date, LOT and batch number,
and graphics. The marking takes place
without contact via flying drops of ink,
making it suitable for all kinds of prod-
uct surfaces. Users can print country Leibinger JET One
and industry-specific fonts with a char-
acter height of 1.5 to 8 mm in up to two lines. Since the ink dries
in less than one second (on plastic, glass, wood, metal, ceram-
ics, technical composites, cardboard and paper), it can handle
production speeds up to 268 m/min. Up to 120 million charac-
ters can be printed with only one litre of ink. Its unique Sealtronic
feature is a nozzle-sealing system that keeps the ink fresh
during production breaks. The JET One also features key inter-
faces for easy integration into a company’s infrastructure.
