MPI Print installs Canada's first Scodix Cast & Cure Ultra 202 Digital Enhancement Press
MPI Print (Concord and Mississauga, Ontario), is one of the largest
trade-only sheetfed printer in Canada, has taken its print-finishing
capabilities to an entirely new level with the installation, at its
Concord production facility, of Canada's first Scodix Cast &
Cure Ultra 202 Digital Enhancement Press. The new press
will allow MPI Print’s clients to add enhanced features to their
print jobs – such as holograms and other special 3D effects,
metallic effects, spot foiling, and much, much more. Through
the Ultra 202’s Cast & Cure technology, MPI clients will be
able to achieve high-impact effects on a wide variety of
substrates for a host of commercial printing and packaging
applications. They’ll also be able to add variable data in a
cost-effective, 100% digital inline process. Originating in the
early 1990s out of Japan, Cast and Cure is a holographic
effect that utilizes UV technology. While best known for its
holographic effects, it can also be used to create exceptional
high-gloss and matte finishes.
MPI Print began as Millenium Printing in 1998 and KingsWeb
in the early 1990’s. Fuelled by successive years of growth and
key acquisitions, the company now operates out of two printing
plants – its 45,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Concord, and its
50,000 sq. ft. facility in Mississauga. Founded by brothers
Pal and Robbie Dhanju, the company continues to be one of
the fastest growing printers in Canada. It offers a complete
range of trade-printing services including prepress, web
(heatset), sheetfed offset, digital, variable-data printing and
a complete in-house bindery. MPI Print also offers die
cutting, a broad range of specialty finishes and other high-end
custom-printing techniques.
