Installations MPI Print installs Canada's first Scodix Cast & Cure Ultra 202 Digital Enhancement Press MPI Print (Concord and Mississauga, Ontario), is one of the largest trade-only sheetfed printer in Canada, has taken its print-finishing capabilities to an entirely new level with the installation, at its Concord production facility, of Canada's first Scodix Cast & Cure Ultra 202 Digital Enhancement Press. The new press will allow MPI Print’s clients to add enhanced features to their print jobs – such as holograms and other special 3D effects, metallic effects, spot foiling, and much, much more. Through the Ultra 202’s Cast & Cure technology, MPI clients will be able to achieve high-impact effects on a wide variety of substrates for a host of commercial printing and packaging applications. They’ll also be able to add variable data in a cost-effective, 100% digital inline process. Originating in the early 1990s out of Japan, Cast and Cure is a holographic effect that utilizes UV technology. While best known for its holographic effects, it can also be used to create exceptional high-gloss and matte finishes. MPI Print began as Millenium Printing in 1998 and KingsWeb in the early 1990’s. Fuelled by successive years of growth and key acquisitions, the company now operates out of two printing plants – its 45,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Concord, and its 50,000 sq. ft. facility in Mississauga. Founded by brothers Pal and Robbie Dhanju, the company continues to be one of the fastest growing printers in Canada. It offers a complete range of trade-printing services including prepress, web (heatset), sheetfed offset, digital, variable-data printing and a complete in-house bindery. Print Three Front installs Ricoh C7110X and Ricoh Pro 8110S Digital Printers Print Three Front (formerly NewTech Imaging Printing Services) located at 200 Front Street West in downtown Toronto, the latest addition to the growing Canadian print-fulfillment franchise, has installed a Ricoh C7110X Digital Colour Printer and a Ricoh Pro 8110S Digital Monochrome Printer. The Ricoh Pro C7110X cutsheet has speeds of up to 90 ppm and a broad range of capabilities – from oversized (13” X 27.5”) printing to 5th-colour printing, on various paper stock up to 360 gsm. “The white, clear, neon yellow and neon pink toners provide many options to meet exacting customer demands and develop new products,” said owner Patrick Nobili. in search of independent owners like Patrick who wish to join an award-winning brand that can help grow their business and increase its overall value. The Ricoh Pro 8110S B&W Production MFP delivers high-quality output quickly on a huge range of diverse media. The Pro 8110S can produce up to 110 B&W pages per minute with up to 1,200 x 4,800 dpi resolution.
