BRAWLING IN BAKU
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix had everything. Too much to try and sum up effectively
in a couple of hundred words. This edition covers a race weekend that will go
down in the history of Formula 1 as one of the most dramatic ever. Chaos
ensued from the moment the red lights went dark, collisions, radio messages,
safety car periods, a red flag stoppage, debris everywhere, a controversial
restart, teammates bashing into each other, road rage...
In the end, when the dust settled, it also delivered the most unlikely of podiums
with Daniel Ricciardo surviving the mayhem to post a popular victory, Valtteri
Bottas stealing second place on the finish line after a storming drive from the
back of the field after a collision... yes, with fellow Finn Kimi Raikkonen.
And the smile inducing highlight which was the gritty Drive of the Day by teenage
rookie Lance Stroll, who transformed from the boy who was the butt of jokes to
the man that gained the respect of the Formula 1 world. You could not script a
more riveting piece of theatre.
We have all that - plus everything else that went on - well covered. Enjoy!
