RACE REPORT Ahead, Hamilton was closing on Rosberg and eventually the German erred. Hamilton, seeing his chance on the last lap pushed hard and attempted a move around the outside into Turn 2. As Hamilton was forced wide and Rosberg took a hard line, collision was inevitable, as was the ensuing controversy. Hamilton powered on to take his third win of the season and the 46th of his career, while Rosberg limped home in fourth and given a penalty by the FIA stewards ‘causing a collision and failing to stop with a seriously damaged car’.
