ax Verstappen was the Driver of the Day for his efforts at the Austrian
Grand Prix as voted by the fans. The youngster just goes from
strength to strength as he lays the foundation for what will surely be a
legendary career in Formula 1.
His maturity on track belies his tender 18 years of age. At Red Bull Ring he
gave an example of this, with shrewd driving. First dispatching his highly
rated teammate, then putting himself in line for a podium finish by stretching
his second set of tyres to the max, then defending his position from Kimi
Raikkonen - a driver twice his age.
Then good fortune smiled on the young Dutchman, as Nico Rosberg tripped
up, third became second. Another masterclass from Mr Max.
