EDITOR’S NOTE ANIL DEV Editor-in-chief Making history HARD WORK PAYS OFF! igers fans in Japan had a windfall as they saw him making history at the maiden PGA tour event in their country. The fi rst win for Tiger came way back at the 1996 at the Las Vegas Invitational. The 82nd came halfway across the world, 23 years and multiple surgeries later. Woods has a habit of surprising us, while in Chiba, Japan the week started with questions about his health, his game and his captaincy it ended with him creating history, when the world least expected him to! Tiger Woods won the inaugural Zozo Championship for an amazing 82nd career PGA Tour victory. “To have won this tournament in Japan- it’s just so ironic, because I’ve always been a global player,” Woods said. “I’ve always been all around the world. To tie the record outside of the United States, it’s pretty cool.” How many times have we written off Tiger Woods? Every time we do that he bounces back. I have a strong feeling that he is back for good and it is going to be awhile before he gets discounted again. In his latest resurrection, Woods won the inaugural Zozo Championship at Accordia Narashino Country Club, Chiba Japan. This was two months after having surgery for the fi fth time on his troublesome left knee. Woods is cool, he struggles, fi ghts the odds and then comes back smiling after a win, happy like a kid who has just won some candy! Winning inspite of downfalls, Tiger has time and again proved that hard work really pays off! Happy Golfi ng! [email protected] Wood had 15 Majors wins while Snead settled for 7. Woods is way behind Snead in PGA Tour events played, Woods has played 359 while Snead had 585 under his belt. In the Top 10 fi nishes department Woods was way behind Snead, Woods with 198 and Snead with a whopping 330! Tigers 82nd PGA Tour title tied him with the golfi ng legend Sam Snead for most in history. The comparison makes interesting reading. The career length span was 29 Years for Snead while for Woods it is 23 years and counting. The best year for Snead was 1950 with 11 wins whereas for Tiger it was 2000 with 9 wins.
