Profi le NISHNA PATEL GPJ: When did you start playing Junior Golf Tournaments? NP: I started playing golf when I was 8 Years old. GPJ: How do you manage your time between golf and studies? NP: I study late in the evening after practising golf 4 days a week. On weekends I complete my work and play 8 holes round. While travelling for tournaments across India, I cover up for studies in the evening after the event. GPJ: What has been the role of IGU? NP: IGU has given me a wonderful platform to compete with best players at Zonal as well as National level with the opportunity to play at different golf courses across India. GPJ: What are your future plans? NP: My future plan is to play professionally and make India Proud. I know it’s very hard with lot of sacrifi ces and struggles but I am ready to do it. GPJ: How has golf helped you in your day-to-day activity? NP: Golf has improved my concentration & made me more focused. GPJ: Is there any other sport you are associated with? NP: I was a state level Inline Skater, but not any longer. GPJ: Any advice to other Junior Golfers. NP: Practise with purpose to achieve your goal is my advice. GPJ: Fitness is really important. Tell us about your day-to-day fi tness regime. NP: Twice a week I train with a certifi ed trainer & other days I do stretching, running and 10 mins of meditation. C GPJ: What’s in your bag? GPJ: When did you start playing Junior Golf Tournaments? RK: I was 8 years old when I played my fi rst Tournament at Qutab Golf Course and also attended a coaching camp in June 2017. GPJ: How has golf helped you in your day-to-day activity? RK: Playing golf regularly has improved my concentration and now I am more focused & disciplined. GPJ: How do you manage your time between golf and studies? RK: I go for practice daily after my school for at least 3 hours. My mother helps me to cope-up with my studies. My school G.D. Goenka grants me leave whenever I have to go for tournaments. GPJ: Fitness is really important. Tell us about your day-to-day fi tness regime. D GPJ: What has been the role of IGU? RK:IGU has provided me a platform to play different courses and compete with other players within my category. It helped me to improve my playing skills. GPJ: What are your future plans? RK: I want to turn professional golfer and represent my country on International levels. GPJ: What’s in your bag? Wedge: Titleist Pitching & Sand RK: I only eat healthy food & keep myself hydrated.
