GPJ: Who prompted you to take golf out the green speed in India is very slow as AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS
compared with the international courses.
of all the other sports?
AB: When I fi rst played golf I developed
an instant interest in the game. Though my
school coach initially got me to play golf,
I would like to give this credit to my dad
who has always been a motivational force
in my golf life.
Even the fairways in India are not much
maintained and if I have to compare the
same with the international courses there is
a huge difference! Although we now have
some very nice courses in India too.
GPJ: What are your future goals?
GPJ: How do you manage your time AB: My future goal is to win a gold medal
in Olympics and become the World’s No.
between golf and studies?
AB: My school, Greater Valley School has
supported me a lot. I take 2 Tuitions every
day on different subjects. I go to school in
my exam days only. Tuitions have helped
me to cope up with my studies while I am
able to devote time on my golf practice as
well.
1 golfer!
GPJ: Pastime beyond golf?
AB: Fitness is something I prefer doing
to take a break from golf. I love doing
power training and what I like the most is
weightlifting.
GPJ: Your advice to other junior golfers?
GPJ: What has been the role of the Indian AB: Give your best in everything you do.
Golf Union in your journey?
Stay calm and have patience.
AB: I have been a part of IGU for around
2 years now. IGU plays a very signifi cant
role in every junior golfer’s life as well
as promoting golf at international levels.
They give international exposure to the
top achievers to give them the experience
and raise the knowledge for the game.
Shubham Jaglan, Aadil Bedi, Karandeep
Singh and more are a few stars of the IGU
fraternity.
GPJ: How has golf helped you in your
day-to-day activity?
GPJ: Tell us about your day-to-day
fi tness regime?
AB: I wake up at 6 AM and then go to the
gym at 7 AM. Come back by 9 AM . Then I
relax for 1 hour and get ready and go on the
golf course and practice till 12 noon. I like
watching Netfl ix after coming back home
and then again I get back for practice. In
the evening I again go back to the gym and
then I go early to bed.

AB: Golf teaches you to be patient and in
your daily life the discipline automatically
improves. You are not like a normal kid;
you are special kid when you play golf.
You are in your zone when you play golf
and outside it’s different. Golf teaches you
a lot of things including fi tness.
GPJ: Tell us about your experience
playing at the international courses.
AB: International championship courses
are much better than Indian Courses.
