Club News INDIAN GOLFERS COMPETE AT AJGA F our Indian Juniors qualifi ed for the ATI Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship 2019, based on their performance in The Milkha Junior Golf Championship 2019 held at Chandigarh Golf Club in January 2019. Three juniors Krish Aaryan Sethi, Ayaan Gupta and Rene Rane took the trip to Jakarta, Indonesia where the tournament was being played at the prestigious Damai Indah Golf and Country Club (PIK course) from 21-23 May. Air tickets for all the three kids were sponsored by the Milkha Charitable Trust. Ayaan Gupta (Boys Division B) put up the best performance among the Indian contingent; he fi nished at Tied 10th position with a score of 85, 77 & 77 from championship tees. The ATI Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior world is one of the oldest running junior golf tournaments in Indonesia and is also a promotional event of golf tourism Indonesia, A total of 150 participants from over 20 countries participated in the 27th edition of the tournament. The 2019 edition was also co-sanctioned by the Junior Golf Tour of Asia (JGTA) and this tournament was the fi nal tournament of the JGTA 2018-2019 season. Top fi ve players on the JGTA season ending order of merit earn a full exemption status on the elite American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Tour. PLAY-OFF WINS MARKED OPENING LEG OF U.S. KIDS GOLF INDIA TOUR P lay-offs were needed to decide the winner in three categories of the 14 held in the opening leg of the U.S. Kids Golf India Tour at the Classic Golf and Country Club on Wednesday. Ansh Dubey (boys 10 years), Ranveer Mitroo (boys 11 years) and Sifat Sayal (girls 15-18 years) edging out Arshvant Srivastava, Udai Aditya Middha and Serene Vikram Singh respectively. Ragini Navet in the girls 12-14 years group turned in the day’s best card, a 1-under 71 on a day 73 young golfers braved the May heat and gusting winds in turning out for the India Tour’s 2019 season’s North Zone opener. Ragini had three birdies to her name against two dropped shots. India Tour carries ranking points, and with participation in a minimum of four events out of the eight, junior golfers will be able to gain qualifi cation for the U.S. Kids World Championship, U.S. Kids European Championships as well as Teen World Championship.
