US KIDS GOLF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019
D
elhi boy Chaitanya Pandey becomes the youngest Indian to win this prestigious
International Tournament.
A sizeable Indian contingent was in Scotland for the U.S. Kids Golf European
Championship 2019 with Chaitanya Pandey of Delhi taking first place in the boys seven
years and under section at the Longniddry Golf Course with a 6-under par score.
Competition in this group was probably the closest with the top six all bringing in under-par
cards. Chaitanya Pandey (30, 36, 36) was the best of the group with a two-shot triumph
over South Africa’s Lee Foxcroft (33, 34, 37) in the boys 7 years and under event at the
Longniddry Golf Course, Scotland. Chaitanya, whose group played over nine holes, had a
total of 6-under 102, with 2 eagles and 6 birdies. Chaitanya’s day one 6-under round held
him in good stead over the second and third days.
Chaitanya, who is coached by Romit Bose, is a student of K R Managalam World School, GK
II New Delhi. His coach was very much confident of his win as he won all the
qualifier matches in India to become U S Kids Golf India Tour Champion in
this category.
Chaitanya is now geared up to take on US Kids World Championship
2019 in North Carolina , USA in August.
