A REVOLUTION FOR JUNIOR GOLF ;
IGNITES PASSION AMONG THOUSANDS
The Golf Revolution, true to its name, has been leading the way
in bringing about a revolution on the Junior Golf greens.
T
hey are taking the passion for Golf
to students as young as fi ve, strongly
celebrating the vision of beginning
early and cultivating a lifelong love for
the game. In the three summer camps they
organized this year, an overwhelming sense
of enthusiasm pervaded the training ground.
Little golfers brought on their infectious
cheer onto the fi eld, carrying special and
safe golfi ng equipment and they took the
stance to swing their way to golfi ng success.
In an odd case, students who traditionally
pursued other sports, also found themselves
fascinated with the golf clubs and shifted
affections to try their hand at this game. Heat
and rising temperatures could do nothing to
deter their spirits; balls after balls were hit,
and step by step, the future of Indian golf was
nurtured by the expert coaches and fi tness
trainers of TGR.
Since their inception in November 2018,
TGR has reached out to 2000+ students
across different schools of India. This
was done through 40+ demos and golf
workshops organized in many schools
of Delhi-NCR and beyond. The objective
of these workshops was to give students
exposure into what golf is and the kind
of prospects it holds for their individual

careers and personal fulfi lment. During the
summer break, TGR paced up its efforts and
launched dedicated coaching programs for
the youngest of the young. Held in schools
like Paul George and Suncity, these were
wholesome opportunities to not only learn
golf, but talk about fun and fi tness on the
fi eld.
Following a unique approach to teaching
golf, TGR is stopping at nothing to customize
the golfi ng experience for 5-year-olds. ‘Fun-
Fitness-and-Golf’ is their motto. They are
focusing on not just learning basic golf skills,
but also strengthening the fi tness focus for
their learners. Trainers certifi ed by Reebok
are leading their fi tness training, creating
a host of interesting activities which were
greatly enjoyed by the little ones.
During the summer programs, fi tness
regimen focused on building core
strength, fl exibility and refl exes. Specifi c
exercises and games were initiated to
strengthen different muscles, learn to shift
weight, improve balance, increase stamina
and begin the day with a wholesome and
rigorous fi tness experience. Aside from this,
the expert coaches and trainers ensured that
the kids were having fun outdoors! It was
this fun element which kept them coming
back to the training ground, despite the surge
in temperatures. In Paul George School,
not only the students, but the teachers
too marched down to the greens to swing
into action with our specialized golfi ng
equipment and bays.
TGR has been very conscious of building
a safe learning space for golf. It is for this
reason that special and safe golf equipment
was brought in for children, completely
provided by TGR, which was customized to
the needs of the little ones. The balls and clubs
were lighter, easier to use and hazard-proof.
In order to enable safe learning grounds,
the TGR trainers also underwent a rigorous
workshop on training ethics, safe practices
and soft skills. In short, TGR’s vision of
making golf accessible and fascinating for
all is being backed by solid efforts, planning
and execution.
This short tryst
with golf is fast
changing into a
serious pursuit for
several learners.
Parents are keen
to enroll their
children
into
more full-fl edged golf coaching program led
by TGR. They trust the coaches – Gaurav,
Amit and Jagmeet – who have succeeded at
teaching golf with a combination of rigour,
discipline and warmth. Parents, who took
along their kids for a casual interaction with
golf are now seeing them transform into
serious budding golfers.
‘We are sincere in our commitment to golf.
We are personally addicted to the game and
are fully aware of the many learnings the
game will instill in growing kids, without
explicit instruction. We believe in golf and
it this belief that we seek to pass on. Let’s
make India fall in love with golf – that’s what
we remind ourselves each day’, shared Wg
Cdr Satish Aparajit, a part of the TGR Core
Team.
Come July, the number of young golfers
associated with TGR is going to rise
exponentially as more programs are
initiated across India. Several schools are
able to recognize the future importance of
introducing golf in the bouquet of sports
offered at school. As a sport that encourages
individual growth and competition with
the self, it has great potential to lead to an
overall personality development of the
child. Golf has great prospects for university
admissions and networking prospects, and
with the way the game demographics are
poised, the world is keenly looking at India
to produce champions of tomorrow. TGR is
playing its part, an important one at that,
in producing these future champions.
