Taking Golf To The Masses
Atotal of �ve tournaments will be organized over the next seven months as part of Chandigarh Golf Club Juniors Training Program . The �rst leg of Chandigarh Golf Club Juniors Golf Championship was held at Chandigarh Golf Club on July 6th 2018 . All together 117 children aged 5 to 18 participated in 6 different categories . In Cat F Boys , Rehaan Singh won the �rst position . Shantanu Bhandari claimed the 2nd position while Zorawar Singh on 3rd . In Cat F Girls , Ojaswini won the Category , followed by Mriganka Singla ( Runner-up ).
Mahika Garg dominated the �eld in Cat E Girls followed by Anahita and Samaya Khunder 3rd . Rannvijay Gill claimed the top spot in Cat E Boys . Ayushmaan Garg �nished 2nd while Kanav Kapila 3rd . Niyati Dhillon was the winner in Category D with Ananya Saini and Anaya Pahwa at 2nd & 3rd spot . Waaris Kamboj , Ajayveer Singh and Jai Gupta claimed the top three positions in Category D Boys . Category C Girls , Manya Saini was the winner followed by Jia Kataria and Vibhi . Vasu Sehgal won the Category C Boys , followed by Jujhar Singh and Ayaan Gupta .
Heena Kang was the winner in the Girls B Category . Puneet Bajwa �nished 1st runner up while Mehar Nijjer was 2nd runner up . In Boys Category B , Aditya Sood took �rst place followed by Parteet Singh Sekhon and Aadit . Category A Girls- Khevi Kaur and Category A Boys - Harmandeep Singh Bajwa were the winners . Bishmadpal and Mandhar Parashar claimed the 2nd and 3rd positions . The prizes were awarded to the winners by the President , Chandigarh Golf Club Birinder Singh Gill . The second leg of the tournament will be played in the last week of August .
The 32nd Usha Junior Training Programme ( JTP ) was conducted at the Delhi Golf Club from May 14 to June 22 , 2018 . Usha International , one of India ’ s leading consumer durables brand , has been associated with the Programme since 2006 . The JTP introduced youngsters between 8-17 years to golf with the aim of discovering and nurturing talented juniors . Each camp concluded with a prize distribution ceremony .
200 kids were trained on several aspects under the expert guidance of Category-A coaches : - Camp-1 : Mr . Vikram Sethi , Camp- 2 : Mrs . Nonita Lall Qureshi and Camp-3 & 4 : Jasjit Singh . The kids were segregated by their level of ability – Beginners , Intermediate , and Advanced .
A daily session of two-hours per group with 3 groups per day covered different aspects of the game - Long Drive , Putting , Chipping , Bunker and Pitching , as well as the basic rules and etiquettes of the game . Further , the nature of the game is such that youngsters learn how to set goals , resolve con�icts , and develop leadership skills , lessons that serve

The programme is open to both members and non-members children . Well-known golfers like Ashok Kumar , Rashid Khan , Honey Baisoya , Kapil Kumar , Shiv Kapur , Manav Jaini , Gurbani Singh and Gauri Monga are some of the past participants of the JTP .
