Proſ le VIDHATRI K URS C GPJ: Who prompted you to take up golf out of all the other sports? VU: My sister Dyuthi K Urs and Cousin Pranavi S Urs inspired me to play Golf. GPJ: When did you start playing Junior Golf Tournaments? VU: I started playing at the age of seven. GPJ: How do you manage your time between golf and studies? GPJ- Who prompted you to play golf? ND- My mom and dad prompted me to play golf. GPJ- When did you start playing Junior Golf Tournament? ND: I started playing junior golf tournaments at the age of 8. GPJ- How do you manage your time between golf and studies? ND: I make sure I ¿ nish my homework before leaving for my golf practice. I practice for at least 2 hours, 5-6 days a week. Once I get back home I study for around an hour as I want to give equal importance to both golf and studies. GPJ- What has been the role of IGU? ND: IGU helps me experience different kind of courses as well as face really tough competitors. WHAT’S IN THE BAG ! Wedge Balls Irons Driver : Pitching wedge, Sand wedge : 10 Callaway balls : 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 Iron : 3 wood and Driver VU: I always try to manage studies and golf, I practice four to ¿ ve days a week and study for two hours daily. My school NPSI has always helped me whenever I missed schools for my tournaments. GPJ: What has been the role of IGU? VU: IGU has been organising the tournaments at the Zonal and at the National level, once I move to Category B by next year will try to attend the coaching camps organised by IGU. GPJ: What are your future plans? VU: Want to represent INDIA at the Asian games and play LPGA. GPJ: Your favourites? Food - Mysore sports clubs chicken Biryani & Butter chicken. VU: Golf has always helped me in attaining more focus, managing time and to be more patient and honest. GPJ: Your advice to other Junior Golfers. VU: Work hard, be focussed and stay happy. GPJ: Fitness is really important. Tell us about your day-to-day ¿ tness regime. VU: Fitness plays an important role, it helps us to keep the body ¿ t, I go to gym atleast three days a week, two days of indoor workout and a day of outdoor workout. WHAT’S IN THE BAG ! GPJ- Is there any other game/ Sport you are associated with? ND- I do lot of swimming as it helps me build forearm which is really useful in playing golf too. GPJ- Your advice to other Junior golfers. ND- Stay calm and control your temperament and always remember “Your competition is always against par”. GPJ- Fitness is really important.
