Proſ le GPJ: Who prompted you to take up golf out of all the other sports? NT: My family gave me an option to play a sport; for some reason I felt golf would be the game. GPJ: How do you manage your time between golf and studies? NT: I have a tough time doing so. But sure few late nights and early mornings has become a routine. Absence from classes during tournaments leaves me to a lot of backlog when I return. I have been fortunate for the support I have received from my fellow friends in class who help me with notes. GPJ: What has been the role of IGU? WHAT’S IN THE BAG ! As there are more than 60 players at every event helps players know how ¿ t one has to stay in the competition. GPJ: Your favourites? NT: Probably my dad, who makes me believe “There is no short-cut to success.” GPJ: How has golf helped you in your day-to-day activity? NT: Discipline, punctuality, being organised are a few. GPJ: Your advice to other Junior Golfers? NT: Keep calm and enjoy the game. Just remember-Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard!!! GPJ: Fitness is really important. Tell us about your day-to-day ¿ tness regime? NT: A combination of Martial arts, Swimming and Cardio at the Gym. B HV: Golf has taught me how to work independently and to trust & believe in myself besides Increasing focus and concentration. GPJ: Your advice to other Junior Golfers. HV: Don’t stress even if you have had a bad round. Just enjoy & think about the positives rather than negatives and to keep your goal in mind. GPJ: Fitness is really important. Tell us about your day-to-day ¿ tness regime. HV: I workout with my personal trainer twice or thrice a week and days when I cannot reach the Gym I do skipping at home. HRIDHIKA VORA GPJ: Who prompted you to take up golf out of all the other sports? HV: I started playing golf because of my brother Jay. He started playing when he was 12 yrs old and I started when I was 8 yrs old. We used to travel with my mother for tournaments which was a lot of fun. GPJ: When did you start playing Junior Golf Tournaments? HV: I started playing in 2012 at the age of 8. GPJ: How do you manage your time between golf and studies? HV: Being in the 9th standard, it is quiet tough to cope with both academics and sports. I miss several weeks of school because of tournaments and it becomes really dif¿ cult to catch up but I just try my best to do the best in both. GPJ: What has been the role of IGU? HV: I think the role of the IGU is to promote golf as a sport in India by 18 GolfPlus Junior August-September 2018 providing fair platform and equal opportunities to all players.
