FATHER- DAUGHTER CARDED VICTORY BY ONE STROKE

Jon and Madison Isaacson of Greensboro , N . C . earned the 21st Carolinas Parent- Child title after carding a four-underpar 68 . They earned the title at the 21st Carolinas Parent-Child Championship at Legacy Golf Links on Friday , July 20 , 2018 on July 20 , 2018 . The fatherdaughter duo carded a four-under-par 68 to win by one stroke .
The pair had a near perfect round and only recorded one bogey . Beginning the round with a bang , they carded four birdies and no bogeys on the front nine . After the turn , the duo kept steady and carded an even-par 36 to enter the clubhouse as the leaders .
“ It really means a lot for me to win this tournament with my dad because we ’ ve played golf together on the weekends ever since I was in the 7th grade ,” Isaacson said . “ He ’ s taught me so much about golf , and he ’ s my favourite person to golf with . When I start college in the fall , I won ’ t be able to play as much with him , so it was nice to win this tournament before I go off to college .”
Jeff and Macie Burcham of Greensboro , N . C . and Michael Mayer of Pinehurst , N . C . and Virginia Mayer of New London , N . C . �nished tied for the runner-up position after carding a threeunder-par 69 .

NEW HOME FOR VICTORIA ’ S OLDEST JUNIOR EVENT

The Victorian Boys and Girls Championships have a new home in 2018 , with Moonah Links Golf Club locked in to host all four stroke play rounds from September 24-27 .
Having held the Australian Open in 2003 and 2005 , the move to Moonah Links gives the country ’ s best young players another chance to test themselves on one of Victoria ’ s premier layouts without a cut .
Tournament Director Doug O ’ Keeffe is thrilled with the announcement that the Championships will be played on the Mornington Peninsula for the �rst time .

Last year ’ s �elds at Yarra Yarra GC were the strongest in the event ’ s history , with 47 interstate players and 16 internationals ( from Singapore , New Zealand , Thailand and Malaysia ) making the trip to Melbourne to compete .
A staggering 50 players were balloted out of the tournament in 2017 after a record number of entries were received , O ’ Keeffe con�dent the Championships will continue to grow in 2018 .

With the guarantee of four rounds at one of the best courses in Australia , we ’ re bound to attract the very best golfers locally and abroad .” Steeped in history , the tournament boasts an impressive honour roll of both male and female winners . - Burtta Cheney ( 1935 ), Margaret Masters ( 1951 – 1954 ), Lindy Goggin ( 1969 ), Rachel Hetherington ( 1991 ) and Su Oh ( 2008 and 2010 ) have all held the girls ’ trophy aloft . Past male champions include Kevin Hartley ( 1951 ), Ian Stanley ( 1966 ), Bob Shearer ( 1963 ), Marc Leishman ( 2001 ), Bryden Macpherson ( 2007 ) and Todd Sinnott ( 2009 ).

2019 JUNIOR PRESIDENTS CUP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The PGA TOUR and American Junior
Golf Association ( AJGA ) have �nalized the of�cial selection and eligibility criteria for the Junior Presidents Cup , which is set to take place December 8-9 , 2019 , at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne , Victoria , Australia . The Junior Presidents Cup will precede the 2019 Presidents Cup , which will be contested at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club for the third time in the International event ’ s history later that week .
Teams will consist of the top 24 junior boys from the United States and around the world , excluding Europe , split up into teams of 12 . Participants for both teams must be at least 12 years old by the start of the tournament and must have not reached their 19th birthday or graduated high school as of January 1 , 2019 .
Additionally , participants must be amateurs who have not yet started college and are not members of a competitive collegiate golf program in order to be eligible to play in the Junior Presidents Cup . Players graduating in the �nal quarter ( Sept . – Dec .) of the year will be considered part of the following year ’ s graduating class .
