What inspired Allure Africa?
What are your current
challenges and how do you
stay motivated?
Allure Africa was inspired
by my life and passions. I
had certain limitations in
my wellness, appearance,
behavior and communication
among others and it had
an impact on my self
consciousness, esteem and
confidence. I took the steps
and walked the long road
back to the life l wanted and
through that l decided to help
others do the same so l made
it my life mission and that’s
the inspiration behind Allure
Africa Group.
As a young lady what did
you dream to have and
how do you match those
dreams to your present
achievements?
I evolved through many stages
of my young life but as soon as
l developed the awareness as
a young lady then my dream
became a focus to live a life
that was pleasing to God and
to inspire, inform and impact
generations young and old for
His glory. I grew up on the diet
of creative entrepreneurship
under the tutelage of my
father
and
grandmother
so l knew that will be a key
element in achieving my
dream. By the way, l’m still on
the way towards achieving all
the dreams l have.
What were your initial
challenges of starting up
and how did you overcome
them?
My initial challenge was lack
of knowledge and education

What are your
achievements?
greatest
My greatest achievement is
having my unique, smart,
strong and equally passionate
daughter Fafali.
What
are
points?
your
lowest
I have transitioned through
many low points in my
business life. This magazine
cannot contain half of it!
However, I will say that low
points always happen when
you take your eyes off the ball
so stay consistent and true to
your gut.
Many
businesses
don’t
make it past the inception
stage. What’s the secret to
yours?
My secret is simple: God’s
hand is on my brand.
What advice would you
give
up
and
coming
entrepreneurs?
There is a wealth of advice out
there, for business start-ups
however, l would share a few
of my top tips:
nnHave your source of inspiration and
support from above.
nnWhen crafting your strategy begin with
the end in mind.
nnIdentify dispassionately the key valuable
human assets that will help you, even
if it’s one single person.
nnGrow
organically,
slowly
but
consistently.
nnEnsure you have technical leadership
to ensure your clients are well served.
nnEngage a formal or informal mentor and
make it your responsibility to nurture
that relationship.
ACCRA’S VERY OWN RIB-SHACK:
Chix -n- Ribs
Words & Images: Vickie Remoe
If you are on a health watch, or have dietary
restrictions against carbs and or meat then do
stop reading here. Chix N Ribs in Osu is not
for the faint at heart. This American eatery
run by Ghanaian returnees serves the best
soul food we’ve had this side of the Atlantic.
The menu is simple but the flavors are high. On
my last visit to Chix N Ribs, I ordered the Half
Grilled BBQ Chicken with a side of Macaroni
and Cheese, and Baked Potatoes. My partner
in crime ordered the Smokey Pork Ribs, with
French Fries and a side of Corn Bread. It took
about 20 minutes for us to be served.
When our order came out of the store front
