What inspired Allure Africa? What are your current challenges and how do you stay motivated? Allure Africa was inspired by my life and passions. I had certain limitations in my wellness, appearance, behavior and communication among others and it had an impact on my self consciousness, esteem and confidence. I took the steps and walked the long road back to the life l wanted and through that l decided to help others do the same so l made it my life mission and that’s the inspiration behind Allure Africa Group. As a young lady what did you dream to have and how do you match those dreams to your present achievements? I evolved through many stages of my young life but as soon as l developed the awareness as a young lady then my dream became a focus to live a life that was pleasing to God and to inspire, inform and impact generations young and old for His glory. I grew up on the diet of creative entrepreneurship under the tutelage of my father and grandmother so l knew that will be a key element in achieving my dream. By the way, l’m still on the way towards achieving all the dreams l have. What were your initial challenges of starting up and how did you overcome them? My initial challenge was lack of knowledge and education 54 GOWOMAN SEPTEMBER|2013 We continue to focus on standards. This is a very key component in getting to the heart and the hands of clients. The focus is on being organized, detailed and improving standards every day. I stay motivated because l have a wonderful team who are clued into the vision of the group, so the possibilities are endless. What are your achievements? greatest My greatest achievement is having my unique, smart, strong and equally passionate daughter Fafali. What are points? your lowest I have transitioned through many low points in my business life. This magazine cannot contain half of it! However, I will say that low points always happen when you take your eyes off the ball so stay consistent and true to your gut. Many businesses don’t make it past the inception stage. What’s the secret to yours? My secret is simple: God’s hand is on my brand. What advice would you give up and coming entrepreneurs? There is a wealth of advice out there, for business start-ups however, l would share a few of my top tips: nnHave your source of inspiration and support from above. nnWhen crafting your strategy begin with the end in mind. nnIdentify dispassionately the key valuable human assets that will help you, even if it’s one single person. nnGrow organically, slowly but consistently. nnEnsure you have technical leadership to ensure your clients are well served. nnEngage a formal or informal mentor and make it your responsibility to nurture that relationship.
