When you think of a gladiator , the first thing that probably comes to mind is something that has the ability to take a knock and function in all sorts of conditions .
This ruggedness of Crusader ’ s Gladiator is based around the chassis design . It is manufactured from 6in Australian steel with an extended drawbar , recessed coupling plus a 2.7-tonne independent suspension system .
Add 16in offroad wheels with AT tyres , 12in electric brakes and a DO35 coupling , and it ’ s a solid package for getting away . A lot of work has been done underneath for protection when touring offroad .
Crusader dealer liaison and sales manager Danny Peterson walked me through the Gladiator during a November factory tour to highlight how Crusader vans are built .
