THE WEIGHTS ISSUE
I find it very frustrating seeing posts on social media and actually seeing examples on the road of people who clearly do not understand their GVM , GCM , and ATM obligations . Surely ignorance can ’ t be bliss ; these people should be held accountable . I don ’ t want more regulations or annual ‘ roadworthy ’-type governance ; however , these people are cowboys and are putting lives at risk .
What ’ s more , if you try to talk to them about their weights , they don ’ t want to talk about it or they just blow you off because they know that they can !
As a collective , can we raise awareness with a simple campaign ? If you publish this and a story as a catalyst and supply your audience with a poster-style banner that we can share on social media platforms proactively promoting who people can contact to get their weights right , it could be the first step in proactive peer / industry-led regulation .

Hi Craig , thanks for the letter . We agree that there is a constant need to inform and reinforce the correct information concerning caravanning weights . We have run plenty of in-depth articles on this topic , and will continue to do so . We ’ ll have a think about your idea about a poster ! – Ed
TRAVELLING LOCALLY
Covid-19 has certainly affected our freedoms when trying to plan a trip . We had paid for a trip to Kangaroo Island for August , which we of course had to cancel . ( All money was refunded ).
So this created an opportunity , once we are unlocked , to visit more Victorian towns , of which there are many . Heading first to Port Fairy , then north passing through Koroit , the Grampians , Little Desert , looking at the silo art in and around the Rupanyup area , Wycheproof , Swan Hill and Mildura , to name a few .
There are many other places to stay on the way . We are looking forward to cleaning both the caravan and car , loading up and hitting the road . See you somewhere out West .
