If the towbar complies with ADR 62/02, the
height of the centre of the ball, when the
vehicle is fully-laden, may be increased to
460mm above the ground. However, the ball
may be installed at any other height, provided
it is also capable of being adjusted to at least
one height within the 350-460mm range.
The coupling body on caravans should be
designed to be compatible with these heights.
You should obtain confirmation from the
manufacturers of both the caravan and the
tow vehicle that the coupling units comply with
the ADR (and AS [Australian Standard] 4177)
requirements, especially the coupling height.
Warranty: Evaluate the warranty range –
kilometres and years – and any conditions or
restrictions that may affect your intended use
of the vehicle.
