BOS JOCKEY WHEEL
Jockey wheels must be one of the most
frustrating devices fitted to any caravan.
Fitting and removing them using those silly
clamps is nothing short of infuriating.
I searched for an alternative and came across
the BOS 370 Jockey Stand. I have to say, this
is one of the best mods we’ve ever made.
Once fitted, the unit can be left on the A-
frame. To lower and raise the van, use a
battery-powered drill and the supplied fitting
to operate the gearbox on top of the unit. And
that’s it. No fighting with clamps and no
physical effort required. The drill does all the
work for you.
BOS offer a variety of wheels if the stand
doesn’t suit your needs; however, we’ve
found the stand perfectly satisfactory for
all occasions.

MISTING SHOWER HEAD
There’s nothing as rejuvenating as a shower
at the end of a long drive. If you’re freecamping,
this means using your RV’s onboard
water supply.
Problem is, the shower head fitted to most
caravans or campers will use water at a rate
of about 11L per minute. If two occupants
have a three-minute shower each, there goes
66L from your water tanks!
Misting shower heads, which release less than
half the amount of water as regular shower
heads, are all the rage in household
bathrooms these days and, as it turns out,
they are ideal for caravan showers, too.
Ours is marketed as the Cora Multi-Function
shower head, available from various bathroom
and plumbing suppliers, but shop around as
there are many similar units available.
To save a considerable amount of water,
consider changing to a misting shower head.
