HOT WATER ANODE Your caravan’s hot water service may have a sacrificial anode, which is there to protect the heater from rusting. Through electrolysis, the anode rod ‘sacrifices’ itself to protect exposed steel when the tank is filled with water. It is an easy DIY task that can and should be done as required. JOCKEY WHEEL A jockey wheel requires little maintenance. There’s not much that can go wrong with them. But they will eventually require some attention. You have two choices: have a crack at pulling it apart – replacing the ball bearing and race (if equipped and requires replacement) and regreasing – or simply replacing it.
